Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 August 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and SchoolTools ("we", "us"). By visiting the site or using any tool, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
We do not keep uploaded documents as a permanent file store, use their contents for advertising, or sell them. Browser-only tools do not upload them. When a tool needs server processing, temporary input and output files exist only long enough to process the job and provide the expiring download, after which automated cleanup removes them. Account and security records are separate and are described in our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
SchoolTools provides online file conversion, document, image, text and calculator tools. Some tools run entirely in your browser; others process your file on our servers; a few clearly marked tools use external AI providers. We may add, change or remove tools at any time.
2. Who may use it
You may use SchoolTools if you can lawfully agree to these terms. Accounts are intended for users aged 13 and above. If you use SchoolTools on behalf of a school or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
3. Access
Public tools do not require an account. You are responsible for using the service lawfully and for keeping your own copies of important files and results.
4. Free use & limits
SchoolTools is free to use within fair-use limits. AI-powered tools may have separate daily limits because they cost us money per use. Current limits are shown on the relevant pages. We may adjust limits to keep the service healthy and block traffic that tries to evade them through automation or IP rotation.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload or process content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you have no right to use;
- use the tools to create material that is fraudulent, deceptive or harmful (for example forged certificates or documents intended to mislead);
- attempt to probe, overload, disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or access it by any automated means except public pages for search indexing;
- resell or commercially redistribute the service itself without our written permission (using your converted files commercially is fine — they're yours);
- interfere with advertising, including clicking ads fraudulently or encouraging others to do so.
6. Your files
You keep all rights to files you upload and to the converted results. We claim no ownership. You give us only the narrow permission needed to process the file and deliver the result to you. We do not use document contents to build advertising profiles or sell data. Server-processed input files are removed after the job finishes, and generated files and download links are deleted automatically shortly afterwards (normally within one hour, with an orphan-file safety sweep after two hours). Clearly marked external-processing tools may send submitted content to the named provider only when you choose to run that tool. Because deletion is automatic, keep your own copies — we cannot recover a deleted file.
7. Contact messages
Messages sent through our contact forms must be lawful and relevant. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details, confidential documents or other sensitive content. We may remove spam, abusive messages or material unrelated to support.
8. Advertising
SchoolTools is funded by advertising, served by third parties such as Google AdSense and clearly labelled as advertising. We don't control the individual ads shown. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies work and how to opt out of personalised ads.
9. Pricing & paid plans
Everything on SchoolTools today is free, within the fair-use limits above. We plan to introduce optional paid plans with higher limits and extra features. If we do: prices will be shown clearly before you pay, paid features will have their own purchase terms presented at checkout, and free tools will remain free. No paid plan will ever be charged without your explicit action.
10. Third-party services
Parts of the service rely on third parties: hosting infrastructure, Google advertising and AI providers for clearly marked AI tools. Their availability affects ours, and their terms govern their services. We are not responsible for third-party websites we link to.
11. No warranty
SchoolTools is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of conversions, or uninterrupted availability. Always check converted output before relying on it, especially for official documents, exams and records.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SchoolTools and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss — including lost data, lost profits, or losses caused by relying on a converted file. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims combined is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months or GHS 100. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for fraud.
13. Suspension & termination
You can stop using SchoolTools at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are broken, where the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users. Sections 6, 7, 11, 12 and 15 survive termination.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and significant changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use SchoolTools after a change means you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana — except where the law of your country of residence gives you rights that cannot be waived.
